Tinette Sumiller of Kayamanan Ng Lahi Philippine Folk Arts has her face decorated with lines and dots in various patterns, creating the effect of formal and elaborate "masks" or tanyak-tanyak for the Pindulas dance of the Yakan (Muslim people of the Basilan islands of southern Philippines). The dance is performed by the bride and groom after the wedding rites are solemnized. The dance is characterized by the broken arm movement that imitates the undulation of fish.
